After having mentioned the successive stages of the child developing his imaginary interpretation of the world, since its appearance until entering the adult age, we need to come back to the most determining first stages, which initiate this process of mythical creation switching between order and disorder, felicity and suffering: the foetal and the chaotic stages.
The psychic experience of the foetal stage may only be imagined a posteriori by adults. We believe it to be a larval stage, characterised by the quiet and safe warmth of the mothers’ uterus. Still it is a decisive stage for the original formation of the psyche and for the synaptic building of the brain to be born. This stage of physiological development may also be much more dramatic and less euphoric than we believe, even painful for the embryo, and create in our unconscious memory profound and lasting traumas linked to the biological and psychic relationship shared with the mother. Many cases of psychoanalysis suggest it. However our adult’s phantasm is to believe the foetal stage to have been a heaven on earth from which we were painfully expelled by our birth. This representation will last long as a nostalgic pole of our mythic representation of the world, which create the mythic predominance of the mother’s figure, since the father will not appear before the chaotic stage.
